Description of the main activities

Labor Department is part of the Sicilian Ministry of Labor, Social Policies and Family.

Its main role is to formulate and implement the regional labor policies through technical and administrative actions, as well as the administrative and accounting management of the assigned resources. Among its competences it is to mention the activity of inspection and of vigilance upon  the correct application of  labor rules; the institutional intervention for the communities of immigrants; the procedure of benefit for temporary out of works employees;  promotion of  public services for the employment;  monitoring of the labor market survey data and the dealing with the relative public corporate body.


Role in the project



Activities in the project

Due to its institutional character, the Labor Department acts as project partner with the assignment to analyze and appraise the existing innovation policy in the Region Sicily; to experiment and to pilot local innovation plans through the involvement of the relative stakeholders; to create the institutional conditions, through support and assistance plans, as to increase investments in the market of knowledge.
